Storms

BOY, have we had some storms tonight. When I was at the bus stop, me and all of my friends got soaking wet. On the bus we all steamed all of the windows. It was pretty funny. Except the part where my hair curled up from getting wet. OMG!!! I'm just kidding, it wasn't that bad. I love to dance and sing in the rain. I was going to when I went home but my mom wouldn't let me because of the lightning. Then the storm got really bad. We live on a hill so there was I tons of water gushing down the street. The soor(sorry I don't know how to spell that word) backed up and pushed the lid off the top and it looked a gieser. Also we have our own mote in our front yard. Then dance was cancelled unfortunately and we have a competition this weekend and my mom is out finishing our costumes at the last minute. Before would like you to say a prayer for those whose houses got destroyed from the tornadoes.

School is Back

I did not want to go to school today but i had to. Although it was nice to see all my friends again. Plus I got to wear my new shirt that my grandma bought me over spring break. It was really rainy today and on the way up to English at the high school we had to walk through rain puddles, mudd, and muddy rain puddles. Then we had to walk up this really steep hill. On the way up I slipped I tried to catch my self, but it made matters worse. I got mudd all over my pants and and arm. Luckily I didn't get any mudd on my new shirt. My friend Laynee said that it looked like I didn't make it to the bathroom in time. HEHEHAHA!!!

MY FRIEND KAYLEN SAYS HI!!!

Spring Break!!!

So far Spring Break has been kind of boring, but it is nice to have a chance to relax and not do anything. Last Saturday I went to Kansas City for a baton competition. I did really good, but I wasn't really competing. I did Divisionals which means that they just judge me and I'm not competing against anyone. I also competed in teams, but we left before we could find out how we did. Then on Sunday, we went to the St. Joseph's Day Feast and it was DELICIOUS. OMG!!! The food there is always so good. I was prepared this year too. I wanted to eat a lot of food while I was there so I skipped breakfast that day and I filled my plate up so that food was almost falling off the edges. This was so I wouldn't have to walk back through the line for seconds. Then Monday we went to the dentist. No one had cavities thank goodness. Today I was so excited!!! I got my haircut. YAY!!! I haven't gotten my haircut since the beginning of November and that is way to long.

Before I have to go, please put in a good prayer for me. Dylan, my brother, is having a birthday party and so I have to try to survive being in the same house as five 8 year olds. Last year I barely made it through and I'm not kidding. THESE ARE NO NORMAL 8 YR. OLDS!!! NO JOKE!!!

Drill Team!!!

This past week, my friends and I have been getting ready for dance team tryouts. We all wore ourselves out. You see we go and learn a routine for the tryouts and we have to learn it in three days. That requires remembering it, practicing it, and mastering the entire routine so that it looks like you've known for over a week. In fact I was so scared that I would forget the routine so kept going through it in my head until I remembered all of it. Then if I remembered the routine, I would be able to go to sleep with a cleaner mind. My friends and I would go up to the studio after learning more of the routine and we would practice for hours. Then after our regular dance classes, we would practice the routine some more. It was exhausting!!! On top of that we had to have our splitz down so everybody stretched for like an hour each day to get further and further. That was what really made us sore. (I already had my splitz down though, because my mom made a deal with me that if I got my splitz down by the end of Feb. she would pay me, and I did) All this practice cut into our sleeping time too.

Then came the day of the tryouts. That morning I got up and went through the routine a couple of times. During the day, if my friends and I had a free time in class, we would go through it in our heads together. After school, my mom took me and a couple of my friends up to the studio to practice before the tryouts. I really helped, I thought. Then we got something to eat and went straight over to the school for tryouts. By this time our nerves were on a high.

There were 18 girls trying out and they said that they would take from 12-16 girls. So for sure two people weren't going to make it. In the locker room there were 6 girls who had already made the team, five of them were Juniors and one was a senior. There were 4 sophmores trying out and the rest were freshman. Of those trying out I had nine friends. I had wished that all of us would have made it.

During regular dance class our minds were on who were making dance team. After dance class we all went up and looked at the sign on the door that listed the members of next years dance team. The six girls who had already made the team once before and four freshman. I wish that all of my friends had made it.
Congratulations to the following for making the NDT:
Paige (that's me!!!)
Hannah
Laynee
Megan
Sami
Emily
Abby
Elizabeth
Sorry, there are two other people and I don't know there names.

State Basketball!

I have great news. On Tuesday, our girls basketball team went to state and we made it to the semifinals. The game was so much fun and we got to skip school to see it. Then to day we went back to play again and we WON!!! It was so awesome and so close. There was three minutes left in the game and Xavier was like six points behind us. I was for sure that we were going to win, but then in the next minute and a half the caught up and the score was 43 to 42. Tight score. I was like omg. We ended up winning but not without a fight. I can't wait to go to the game on Saturday to fight for the state title. I almost lost my voice at the game.

It was kind of embarrassing because I screamed so loud and everyone around me gave me a funny look. Then my friend Bri, turned to the people behind us and said,"It's ok, she just got out of the psych ward and she forgot to take her medicine." They believed it and were giving me funny looks all night. It was still fun though. I'll be back to update Saturday on how our team does!!!

GO WARRIORS!!!
